Working principle of scrap yard metal shredder:
Hammer crushing: Using high-speed rotating hammers, driven by the motor, take turns
to hit the metal objects to be crushed in the chamber, and tear the
metal materials into crushed objects that meet the specifications
through the space formed between the hammer and the liner.
Shearing crushing: Using double-axis or single-axis low-speed rotation, the material
is cut, cut, torn, pulled, etc. through the cutter disc. The spiral
tooth cutter discs on the driving shaft are arranged in an
interlaced manner, and form relative motion with the stationary
cutter disc on the shell, so that the materials are squeezed, torn
and sheared at the same time after entering, thereby achieving
crushing.
Structural composition of scrap yard metal shredder:
Feeding device: usually includes conveyor belt, grab or feeder, etc., which is
used to transport the scrap metal materials in the scrap yard to
the feed port of the shredder to achieve uniform and continuous
feeding.
Crushing chamber: It is the core component of the shredder. It is equipped with
crushing elements such as hammers, blades or tooth rollers.
Different types of shredders have different crushing chamber
structures. For example, the crushing chamber of the hammer
shredder is composed of a hammer and a liner, and the crushing
chamber of the double-shaft shredder is composed of two relatively
rotating cutter shafts and cutter discs.
Power system: It is generally composed of a motor, a reducer, etc., which
provides power for the shredder. The motor drives the reducer to
convert the high speed and low torque of the motor into the low
speed and high torque required by the shredder to meet the
requirements of crushing metal materials.
Discharge device: located at the bottom or side of the crusher, used to discharge
the crushed metal materials. Usually, a screen or discharge port
adjustment device is set to control the particle size and shape of
the discharge.
Control system: The PLC control system can realize the control functions of the
crusher's start, stop, reversal, and automatic reversal of
overload. At the same time, it can also monitor the operating
status of the equipment in real time, such as current, temperature,
etc. When a fault occurs, it will alarm and shut down in time to
ensure the safety of the equipment and operators.
