OEM/ODM Vibration Bowl Feeder Components Hopper Vibratory Rotary Bowl Feeder
1 . Descriptions:
Vibratory bowl feeders play a crucial role in enhancing the speed, efficiency, and lead time of manufacturing processes. However, to ensure that these systems support the manufacturing process effectively, attention must be given to their maintenance. Here are some tips to optimize the efficiency of vibratory bowl feeders:
Maintain the Fill Level: The bowl feeder's primary function is to orient parts to the production line. To achieve this, it is essential to maintain an appropriate fill level. A low fill level, with very few parts remaining in the bowl, hinders the feeder's function. Avoid overfilling or under-filling the bowl, as either can reduce feeder efficiency.
Utilize a Storage Hopper: If your manufacturing process requires parts to be stored for a period before being fed into the bowl feeder, consider installing a storage hopper. This unit ensures that only the required number of parts are passed into the bowl feeder for orientation. It helps maintain the proper fill level in the feeder.
Test New Equipment: When upgrading your system with new equipment, such as a hopper or bowl feeder, it is crucial to ensure compatibility with your process. One way to do this is by having the equipment tested. Vibratory bowl feeder and hopper manufacturers often collect sample components from customers for testing purposes. This helps confirm that the equipment you purchase is suitable for your specific manufacturing process.
Following these simple tips can help maintain the efficiency of your vibratory bowl feeding system.

3 . Solving Common Vibratory Feeder Problems:
Problem 1: Intermittent Operation
The feeder is unable to run continuously for long periods of time.
It cannot perform at certain amplitude levels.
Sometimes, the feeder increases its amplitude without any apparent
reason.
Solution 1:
The most likely cause of this problem is a failing SCR controller.
It is advisable to have a spare controller on hand to address this
issue.
Problem 2: Decrease in Feed Rate
Cracked springs, loose feet, rusting, a broken weld seam, or the absence of a bowl cover can result in a declining feed rate.
Solution 2:
Cracked springs are often not visible to the naked eye. To check for cracks, remove the spring and throw it forcefully onto a concrete floor. If it breaks, it indicates a crack.
Tighten the rubber feet of the feeder and inspect them for cuts or
excessive hardness. If any of these issues are present, consider
replacing the feet.
Examine rusted components. If salvageable, disassemble, remove the
rust, clean the parts, and reassemble the drive unit. Apply
rust-protecting lubricants to prevent future rusting.
A broken weld seam may occur when the armature hits the coil. If
possible, re-weld the seam; otherwise, replacing the coil is
recommended.
Ensure that the bowl feeder's cover is properly in place and
tightened. This will ensure that the feeder's amplitude is not
negatively affected. Always keep the bowl covered during operation.
To maintain the vibratory feeder's optimal condition, consider
implementing a maintenance schedule. Calculate the average time and
workload the feeder performs in a year, and based on that,
establish a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or annual maintenance
plan.
