A nautical sextant is an astronomical navigational instrument used
by ships to determine the Angle between a celestial body and the
waterline. Since the graduated arc on the instrument is one-sixth
of the circumference, it is called a sextant.
The nautical sextant is an instrument used to observe the altitude
of celestial bodies. Like any other instrument, the nautical
