Uma afronta aos gaúchos

A memória do escritor Moacyr Scliar pelos integrantes da Academia Brasileira de Letras foi conspurcada. É que a cadeira vaga com a morte do escritor gaúcho vai ser ocupada agora pelo jornalista das Organizações Globo, Merval Pereira. Os acadêmicos que votaram no jornalista autor de um livro que agradou apenas os opositores de Lula devem ser cobrados, porque se dobraram ao esquema global. Votaram plim-plim.
Imaginava-se que apesar dos pesares, a ABL já havia se redimido dos tempos em que chegou a escolher como acadêmico o então general Aurélio Lira Tavares, Ministro do Exército, e isso em plena ditadura. Em anos anteriores, Getúlio Vargas, que nunca primou por sabedoria no mundo das letras, também foi escolhido.
Merval está sendo badalado pela mídia de mercado, da qual é verdadeiramente um digno representante. Um acadêmico que brilha para plateias do Clube Militar onde circulou durante a eleição exatamente para criticar duramente o governo Lula e ser aplaudido efusivamente por militares da reserva, parte deles volta e meia solidarizando-se com figuras do gênero Brilhante Ustra, que dispensa apresentação e está sendo cobrado por ter comandado o famigerado DOI-Codi, em São Paulo, no período mais duro da ditadura instalada no Brasil depois de 1 de abril de 1964.
Merval Pereira é seguidor do espaço que algum dia foi ocupado em O Globo por figuras como João Neves da Fontoura, que durante anos e anos defendeu o que havia de mais reacionário no espectro político brasileiro antes de 64. Merval, autor de um livro só, é desta escola. Os tempos mudaram, teve de adequar a linguagem, mas em essência não mudou a defesa dos mesmos interesses que Neves da Fontoura.
Para se ter uma ideia, Neves da Fontoura rompeu com Getúlio Vargas porque o então presidente da República recusou-se a enviar tropas brasileiras para combater na Guerra da Coréia. Depois do rompimento passou a ocupar o espaço jornalístico de O Globo, no mesmo lugar hoje preenchido por Merval Pereira.
É importante lembrar tudo isso, até para se ter mais elementos para julgar o que representa para a ABL a entrada deste jornalista em seus quadros.
Pobre Moacyr Scliar, que nesta altura do campeonato, não só pelos seus antecedentes literários, um grande escritor, como por seu passado político vinculado as causas progressistas deve estar indignado com a escolha dos acadêmicos.
Além do próprio Scliar, neste mundo, parte ponderável e pensante dos gaúchos também não está confortada com a escolha. O jornalista Renato Gianuca, recentemente, por exemplo, expressou sua opinião dizendo que seria uma vergonha se no lugar de Scliar ingressasse na ABL o Merval Pereira. Exortou os cariocas a se esforçarem para impedir a grosseria. Lamentavelmente, Gianuca, a vergonha consumou-se.
Aliás, não é de hoje que a ABL cometeu equívocos em relação ao Rio Grande do Sul. Ignorou Fausto Wolf, este sim um brilhante jornalista e escritor, natural do Rio Grande do Sul. Deixou de colocar o fardão em uma das maiores figuras literárias da região e de todo o país, o escritor Mario Quintana. Irônico como sempre foi, Quintana deve estar ironizando com Scliar sobre o que representa para a literatura brasileira o ingresso na ABL de um global como Merval Pereira.
Provavelmente vai ironizar mais ainda quando tomar conhecimento do noticiário da mídia de mercado sobre o fato. E, tem mais, realmente é o cúmulo não escolher o escritor, este sim escritor na verdadeira acepção da palavra, Antonio Torres, que obteve apenas 13 votos dos acadêmicos que voltaram a dever uma satisfação à história.

O que você esperava de uma instituição que já elegeu figuras como Marco Maciel,Roberto Marinho e Sarney. Com certeza Merval vai esta muito a vontade. Mais lembre que um gaucho foi recentimente homenagiado lá também o Ronaldinho kkkk
