Sobre mídia e política
Por Marcelo Salles, 29.03.20101) Domingo (28), enquanto atores, músicos e jornalistas da TV Globo cantavam e dançavam ao ritmo de “We are the champions”, numa premiação criada por eles e para eles, a TV Record transmitia reportagem sobre o terreno público invadido pela Globo, em São Paulo. O governador José Serra, instado a comentar o assunto, interrompeu uma pergunta do repórter e disse: “Se você quer dar sua opinião, vire-se para a câmera e grave”. Em comum, Globo, globais e o governador tucano: arrogância. Isso sem entrar nas páginas policiais.
2) A partir de domingo (28), o Globo circula com a seção de opinião reformulada. O espaço total passa de duas para três páginas. De acordo com o jornal, o número de textos vai aumentar de 1.100 para 1.800 por ano e “os leitores ganharão em qualidade e pluralidade no debate de ideias”. Tudo indica que o Globo quer recuperar o chamado “mercado de opinião”, hoje dividido com sites e blogs não alinhados ao pensamento neoliberal das corporações de mídia. O jornal justifica a mudança: “Nesses tempos de grande fluxo de informações, pela internet (computadores, smartphones etc), a análise e a opinião ganham cada vez mais relevância para o leitor, ajudando-o a entender e a se posicionar diante da avalanche de informações, muitas nem sempre confiáveis e até de fontes inidôneas”. A perda do “mercado de opinião” e a queda constante da circulação e venda dos jornalões acendeu o alerta amarelo na empresa.
3) A Folha de S. Paulo, assim como a maior parte das corporações de mídia, sugere que o dono da emissora de tv Globovisión, da Venezuela, está sendo perseguido porque criticou o governo Chávez. Na edição de sexta-feira (26), a Folha anota o que teria sido a motivação para a detenção do empresário Guillermo Zuloaga: “No encontro [da Sociedade Interamericana de Imprensa, que congrega as corporações de mídia do continente], o dono da Globovisión disse que ‘não se pode falar de liberdade de expressão em um país quando o governo usa a força para calar a mídia’”. A construção da mensagem é evidente: quem critica a mídia vai preso nesse país totalitário. A versão do governo venezuelano não é publicada nas corporações de mídia brasileiras, mas na Telesur, sim: “el millonario y actual presidente del canal de televisión de extrema derecha, Globovisión, reconoció que si el 11 de abril de 2002, cuando se derrocó por poco más de 48 horas al gobierno de Chávez, se hubiesen hecho bien las cosas, otra sería la situación de Venezuela”. Por essa e outras declarações, o Ministério Público da Venezuela decidiu pedir sua prisão por “ofensa y vilipendio a la primera autoridad del Presidente de la República”. Zuloaga foi detido quando tentava pegar um avião com a família, mas já está em liberdade.
4) Indico a todos o blog Nota de Rodapé, do jornalista Thiago Domenici. Trata-se de um espaço de reflexão, com diversos colunistas que enxergam a realidade sem os filtros das corporações de mídia. Um trecho do último post do Thiago: “SP está se degenerando a cada chuva, a cada trânsito de centenas de quilômetros, a cada morte sem sentido no farol, a cada árvore que cai ou favela que desaba, a cada recorde de vendas no comércio, a cada shopping a mais, a cada bolo de aniversário. Uma cidade que não se suporta, que virou uma obesa mórbida, com vícios que levam ao ‘sem sentido’ diário”. Além dos textos do Thiago, não perco um da Andrea Dip, que faz a coluna “Mãe em surto”. 5) Debaixo de 40º C, cidadãos caminham, suando aos píncaros, de terno e gravata, em plena Av. Rio Branco, no centro do Rio de Janeiro, lugar onde já existe engarrafamento de gente. Enquanto isso, num auditório da Câmara dos Deputados, em Brasília, a uma temperatura de 15º C, índios quase nus tentam se esquentar com as mãos. Que sentido há nisso?

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
