Working principle of RV gear reducer


The RV drive is a new type of transmission developed on the basis of cycloidal pinwheel drives.
The RV reducer consists of an involute cylindrical gear planetary reduction mechanism and a cycloidal pinion planetary reduction mechanism.
The involute planetary gear is integrated with the crankshaft as an input to the cycloidal pinion drive section.
The crankshaft drives the cycloidal wheel for eccentric motion.
The crank rotates clockwise clockwise for 1 week and the cycloidal wheel moves 1 tooth counterclockwise.
The core components of the RV reducer are the pin housing, the crank shaft and the cycloidal wheel.

  • Input shaft/planetary gear

  • Pin shell/pin/cycloid gear

Form the 2nd stage gear reduction, achieving high rigidity and high accuracy through the cycloid meshing rate higher than 80% and the nearly zero. - backlash quality fit.


  • Crank shaft/output shaft

Realizing the transmmision and output of the torque by connection the 1st and 2nd stage gear reduction mechanism.
