  • Case Banestado is the cover of the edition. The shameless media omission is denouced by FM, that compares this to the Lala and Silveirinha cases, quite explored by the media, although they represented much smaller embezzlements if compared to the 30 billion dollars deviated through Banestado;

 

Edition # 9 - december, 2003.

  • The closing of Catia TV, the main community channel in Venezuela and its relation with the process of disestablishment of Hugo Chávez government by the media was also distinguished in this edition;

  • A discussion about the definition of news was made by Malu Muniz, who heard several representatives of the media, as the CBN anchor, Sidney Rezende, the journalist Alberto Dines and the owner of the newspaper “Tribuna da Imprensa”, Helio Fernandes, among others;

  • A whole page of our newspaper was filled with an excellent interview with the editor of the magazine “Cardenos do Terceiro Mundo” (Notebooks of the Third World), Beatriz Bissio. Among the issues, she talked about prejudice of mass media towards African countries, and about the way it treats this matter out of its proper context;

  • In the section “Opinion”, Marcelo Salles writes about the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo” subordination to merchant interests. Also an article of Cinthya Pires, about “novels” are being mixed up in the news, with the creation of real characters.
